Ingredients (4 Servings)
For Vegetables
4 oz (100 g) onion (sliced)
4 stalks of green onion (chopped)
1/8 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp salt
For Mushrooms
9 oz (260 g) mushrooms (sliced)
1/8 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp rice wine
For Beef Marinade
12 oz (340 g) beef (thinly sliced)
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp baking soda (to tenderize the meat)
4 tsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp black pepper powder
6 tsp water
4 tsp oil
For Stir Fry Sauce
1 tsp rice wine
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp oyster sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
1/3 cup water
1/8 tsp black pepper powder
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
Chop the onion, green onions, and mushrooms.
Mince the garlic and set aside.
Step 2: Marinate the Beef
Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
In a bowl, mix beef with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, baking soda, cornstarch, black pepper, water, and oil.
Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes for maximum tenderness.
Step 3: Stir Fry the Vegetables
Heat oil in a pan and stir-fry the onion and green onion stems until fragrant.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 4: Cook the Mushrooms
In the same pan, stir-fry the mushrooms with sugar, salt, and rice wine until softened.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 5: Cook the Beef
Heat oil and pan-fry the marinated beef until browned and tender.
Step 6: Combine Everything
Add the garlic, cooked vegetables, and mushrooms back into the pan.
Pour in the stir-fry sauce (dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, water, and black pepper).
Stir well and cook for another 1-2 minutes until everything is well combined and coated in sauce.
